State Programs

VOCE: A prestigious competition for vocalists, strings, winds/brass, and chamber music at the Branch and State levels, it was created as a means of providing solo and chamber ensemble opportunities for students. Please see under the separate State Programs section for further information.

Certificate of Merit: The program provides a standard of curriculum that requires students to strive for focused musical excellence in performance, technique, ear training, sight reading/singing, and music theory. Please see under the separate State Programs section for further information.

CM Panel Auditions: The highly competitive program is for students who have demonstrated artistic and technical skill and polish at a near-professional level. For example, the performance quality should be at a higher level than the Convention Festival standard (above 5+).

State Convention: MTAC hosts the annual State Convention where world-renowned artists and teachers give recitals, lectures, presentations, and master classes. More than 2,000 members, guests, student performers and their families attend this culminating event of the year.

There are many other MTAC programs that are not covered on the branch website. Please visit www.mtac.org for information about other programs offered at the state level.
