Chamber/Ensemble Recital



The Chamber/Ensemble Recital, held jointly on the same day as VOCE, was created as a means to provide students the experience and enjoyment of playing collaboratively with other musicians without the requirements and pressures inherent in a competitive event. (10 participation points)

Eligibility Requirement: At least one performer in the ensemble group must be a student of a current MTAC San Gabriel Valley                                                Branch member in good standing.
Repertoire Requirement: Any repertoire that involves two or more performers but no more than two pianos. Includes piano                                                          ensembles, chamber ensembles, instrumental sonatas and concertos with piano accompaniment.                                                        Ensembles may be performed with piano accompaniment (e.g. A pianist may perform a Piano Trio with                                                an accompanist providing the string parts.)

Time Limit: There is no time limit for a single, one-movement piece. If performing any additional repertoire (i.e. multiple pieces or                           movements), the total playing time must not exceed 8 minutes. Three pieces maximum per performer.

Entry Fee: $20.00 per student for ensembles with only one student. No fee for accompanists.
                   $15.00 per student for ensembles with two or more students.

Please note that it is the duty of the teacher to ensure that students and their parents have read and understand the rules outlined in the Student/Parent Guidelines for Recitals & Competitions.

1) Complete registration for students online.
2) Complete and print out the Teacher Cover Page.
3) Mail entry fees and the completed cover page to the Program Coordinator.

Entry fees must be postmarked by the the day after the registration deadline and are non-refundable once scheduling has been completed. Please send one check per studio (from teacher, not parent or student) payable to Music Teachers' Association of CA
